A significant step in the expansion of Sweeptech’s Airport Division and its capability at Heathrow and building on our established presence across the UK aviation sector.
We’re pleased to announce that Sweeptech has secured its own Airside Operators Licence (AOL) at Heathrow Airport.
This represents an important milestone in the continued development of our Airport Division and reflects the standards, controls and operational capability required for Heathrow to entrust Sweeptech with managing its own authorised people and airside passes within its AOL framework.
For Sweeptech, it is a significant recognition of the way we operate and the capability we have developed within our Airport Division, providing a strong platform to support existing and prospective customers requiring specialist environmental services at Heathrow.
What does this mean for our customers?
Working within an airport environment brings additional requirements around access, people, vehicles, safety and operational procedures.
Having our own AOL means Sweeptech can manage its authorised airside capability within Heathrow’s established framework, providing a more self-sufficient approach for the contractors and businesses we work with.
This also reduces the additional coordination and resource that can come with bringing subcontractors into an airside environment, while giving customers greater confidence in their environmental services partner.
It also supports greater continuity for longer-term requirements, helping our teams maintain familiarity with the airport environment, its procedures and individual customer requirements.
Ultimately, it gives contractors access to an experienced environmental services partner with the capability and understanding to manage its own authorised airside operations.

Heathrow further strengthens our established airside operating capability across the UK, which includes airports such as Gatwick, Manchester, East Midlands and London City, alongside our wider presence at major airports and military airfields nationwide. This builds on the national reach, experience and growing capability of our Airport Division.
