A feel good story to brighten your day! Young Patrick – a big fan of road sweepers and all things trucks – enjoyed a wonderful tour of our vehicles, courtesy of Sweeptech’s Gavin Carter
Sweeptech recently attended Truckfest 2024, at the South of England Showground in Ardingly. A small group of our brilliant drivers took three vehicles down to the Showground to show off some of our fantastic fleet and the tech behind them – much to the joy of an excited young man, Patrick, attending the event with his family.
Patrick’s mother messaged Sweeptech after the event, to show her appreciation to Gavin for taking the time to show her son around our vehicles and even letting him have a carefully supervised go at operating some of the road sweeper’s buttons:
“My son Patrick, who has ADHD/ASD, loves road sweepers and was so excited when he saw one. I would just like to give praise to Gavin from Sweeptech, who was so patient with my son, showing him the vehicle and explaining things to him. It really made my son’s day and he has said it was one of his favourite moments. Please pass on our compliments & hopefully we see him again next year!”
On behalf of Gavin and everyone here at Sweeptech – we’re delighted to have made such a positive impact and a lasting memory for young Patrick.
Which vehicles were on show?
Gavin, Michael, Dell and Ricky from Sweeptech teamed up to showcase the following vehicles on a beautiful summer’s day – just part of Sweeptech’s large and far ranging waste management fleet:
A Roll on Roll off Volvo FMX Skip Lorry, operated and driven by Michael Sargeant
A Scania 250 Road Sweeper, operated and driven by Ricky Rist
A Scania V8 Articulated Lorry, driven by Dell Fell
Gavin commented:
“The weekend was fantastic, with beautiful weather on our side to showcase some of the vehicles we have in our fleet. We showed anyone who was interested around all the vehicles, explaining what the vehicles do and how they are operated and used.
“We decided to attend because as drivers of Sweeptech, we have a huge passion for lorries and wanted to showcase some of the newer fleet. We all look forward to attending Truckfest 2025, making it bigger and better and to show off some of the tanker fleet we have to offer”.
